Here, the script comes from the opening scene of “The Maltese Falcon”.
It is the Faculty’s most traditional assignment. There are hundreds of versions of this exact scene,
all different from one another.
The assignment was to use the script, give the piece a distinct look and a little story.
We had one day with 400 ft of 16mm film to shoot. In our version, Mr. Thursby gets eaten.
We were the first team to shoot with children. I found it amazing how naturally they put themselves
into the workflow and being in front of the camera for their first time.
